Talk about your brand
What makes a Paris Jade Burrows garment couture? Each piece is individually handcrafted and made-to-measure, designed in collaboration with the client. From concept to construction, the process is deeply personal and rooted in artistic storytelling. Paris sources high-end, often reclaimed materials and incorporates detailed tailoring, textile manipulation, and performance-inspired silhouettes.
How is ready-to-wear different from couture?
Ready-to-wear (RTW) refers to standardized, pre-made garments available in set sizes. They’re quicker to produce and more accessible—but lack the intimate storytelling and sculptural craftsmanship of couture.
Couture is one-of-one. It is designed and built exclusively for your body, your story, and your vision. Every seam is purposeful. Every garment is an heirloom.
Do you offer custom designs or only pre-designed collections?
Paris specializes in custom couture, though select pieces from collections may be adapted or reimagined for new clients. Every design begins with you and evolves through creative collaboration.
Am I able to order an exact look from a collection?
Yes, depending on fabric stock. Paris is happy to re-make pieces from collections but in different fabric as all fabrics are found in Sydney and are subject to low availability.
How do I book a consultation or fitting appointment?
Fill out the inquiry form on the Contact Page, including your event date, concept, and any reference imagery. Paris will follow up directly to arrange a consultation (virtual or in-person).
How does the custom couture process work?
The process begins with a design consultation, followed by sketching, fabric sourcing, and fittings. You’ll be involved throughout—from first idea to final stitch. Expect deep conversation, inspiration boards, and transformative creativity.
How long does it take to create a couture piece?
Couture creation takes 2 to 8 weeks, depending on complexity, availability of materials, and your timeline. Rush orders may be accepted with additional fees, subject to availability.
Can I request design modifications to an existing look?
Yes. Previous looks from Paris’s portfolio can be used as a starting point, but each garment will be reimagined specifically for you. Modifications are welcome and encouraged.
What’s the price range for your couture garments?
Pricing varies depending on materials, construction time, and complexity. Custom pieces typically begin at AUD $1,500 and increase based on design scope. Quotes are provided after initial consultation. If you are wanting a reimaged version of a RTW piece prices start at the RRP price of garment.
Do you require a deposit to start a custom order?
Yes. A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to begin design and sourcing. The price of materials will be invoiced at the commencement of construction and the remaining balance is due prior to delivery or at the final fitting.
Can I order online, or do I need to visit your atelier?
You can absolutely begin the process online. Many clients begin remotely, especially for initial consults and measurements. In-person fittings are offered where possible, but remote couture is available worldwide. All RTW pieces (no custom measurements) don't require fittings.
Where are your pieces made?
All garments are designed and hand-crafted by Paris in her Sydney-based atelier. Materials are sourced both locally and internationally, with an emphasis on sustainability.
Are your garments handmade?
Yes. Every couture piece is crafted by hand, often using techniques inspired by costume design, sculpture, and performance. No two garments are alike.
What if I’m not located near your studio?
Not a problem. Paris frequently works with interstate and international clients. Virtual consultations, detailed measurement guides, and digital fittings ensure you’ll receive a garment that fits and feels like it was made in-person.
Do you offer virtual fittings or remote measurement guidance?
Yes. You’ll receive a step-by-step guide for self-measurement (or a trusted tailor can assist). Paris also offers video sessions to confirm fit and proportions throughout the process.
How is a couture garment packaged and delivered?
Each piece is delivered in custom packaging depending on the garment with a garment bag, hanger, and care card. Couture is treated as an artifact—your piece arrives with the reverence it deserves.
Can I track my couture order once it’s shipped?
Yes. You’ll receive a tracking number and shipping updates. All packages are insured and sent via AUsPOst of Courier to ensure safety and speed.
What if my garment doesn’t fit properly upon delivery?
Paris aims for a precise fit, even remotely. Minor alterations can be handled by your local tailor, or you can return the piece for adjustments (costs may apply). If your body changes mid-process, communicate early to avoid delays.
What if my measurements change during the process?
Paris allows for one post-construction fitting or alteration. Please keep communication open if there are any significant changes.
Can I return or exchange a couture piece?
Couture pieces are made-to-measure and cannot be returned or exchanged. Each garment is a one-of-a-kind creation designed specifically for you.
Can I return a Ready-To-Wear garment?
Yes, if you order straight off the website, without custom measurements then there is a 14 day window from the day of delivery to request a return.
What’s your cancellation or refund policy for custom orders?
If you need to cancel, please do so before fabric sourcing begins. Once production starts, the 50% deposit is non-refundable. Cancellations mid-process may incur additional fees for work already completed.
How do I make a return?
Returns are not covered by the Paris Jade Burrows brand. If bought in store, please return to where you have made your purchase. If bought online you will need to request a return by contacting pr@parisjadeburrows.com with reason as to why. You will then be sent a confirmation of return and how to return to piece back to us.
How should I care for my couture piece?
Dry clean only where applicable. All hand dyed or airbrushed pieces generally will require no wash or spot cleaning. All the wash information is on the tags with the garments. Avoid hanging very heavy pieces—lay flat or use padded hangers. Pieces with art finishing are suggested to keep in garment bags to avoid transfer onto other garments.
Do you offer cleaning or restoration services?
Clients can request professional/custom restoration services upon inquiry. We do not provide a cleaning service for garments but are happy to advise after contact us.
Is your work sustainable?
Paris champions ethical, slow fashion practices. Many materials are deadstock or reclaimed, and every piece is made locally. Nothing is wasted—every cut and thread is intentional.
What if I cancel my order?
Cancellations must be made before fabric sourcing begins. Deposits are non-refundable once production has started.
Can I collaborate on the design?
Yes. Couture is a co-creative experience. Paris will guide you through mood boards, sketches, and fabric selections to ensure the final design reflects your aesthetic and emotional tone.
