Paris Jade Burrows is a multidisciplinary designer working across fashion, screen and live performance. Her fearless attitude and belief in making purposeful work drives her to challenge the traditions of art making in time-based mediums and the conventions of dress and tailoring in fashion. Paris’s work stands out as experimental, futuristic and dramatic, with avant-garde tastes and a refined gothic sensibility.
After graduating from NIDA with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design for Performance in 2023, Paris has worked across theatre, fashion, events and screen as both a Costume and Production Designer. Her work has been recognised across the performing arts industry, earning acclaim for its distinctive visual language and interdisciplinary approach. She is currently the Head Designer of her eponymous label, Paris Jade Burrows, through which she debuted her first collection, IT'S REAL IF IT BLEEDS, as an off-schedule presentation during Australian Fashion Week. Since then, her work has been presented as part of both Australian and Melbourne Fashion Week and has been featured in numerous fashion publications.
At the core of the Paris Jade Burrows brand is a commitment to storytelling, craftsmanship and purposeful design. Working from a zero-waste atelier, Paris creates garments that exist at the intersection of fashion and performance, drawing upon historical research, experimental textile techniques and contemporary social discourse. Through immersive world-building, she explores the relationship between maker, wearer and garment, creating pieces that serve not only as objects of dress, but as vessels for character, identity and reflection. Her future projects continue to blur the boundaries between costume and fashion, challenging audiences to consider both what we wear and what our clothing has the power to communicate.
