Doré is a couture presentation of avant-garde
gothic garments, reimagining the haunting
theatricality of Gustave Doré’s imagery
through textile and scenographic design.
The next chapter for the PJB world of story telling. DORÉ will be our second couture presentation. This show will explore the world built by Gustave Doré during his life, illustrating well known stories by John Milton, Dante Alighieri, Edger Allen Poe and more, bringing his haunting and theatrical images to life through contemporary design.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Paris Burrows is a multidisciplinary designer working across fashion, screen and live performance. Her fearless attitude and belief in making purposeful work drives her to challenge the traditions of art making in time based mediums and the conventions of dress and tailoring in fashion. Paris’s work stands out as experimental, futuristic and dramatic, with avant-gard tastes and refined gothic sensibility.
After graduation from NIDA with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design for Performancein 2023, Paris has worked as a costume and Production Designer, dabbling in Theatre, fashion, events and screen and received great acclaimfor her work as well and being nominated for the Sydney Fringe award for “Best in Theatre” 2023.

SAMUEL LUCAS ALLEN
DIRECTOR
Samuel Lucas Allen is an award-winning (mostly losing) writer and director working across film and theatre.
Their short film Cut premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival and won Best Short Fiction Film at the Buenos Aires International Film Festival and Best Editing at the Canberra Short Film Festival, with further nominations including the Melbourne Queer Film Festival. Other works, including After Saturn, Plastic, Only The Beautiful, and School Night, have received awards and nominations across Australia and internationally.
Sam has directed over 30 stage and screen productions, including works at NIDA, where they later returned on commission to direct Dracula. They continue to collaborate with designer Paris Jade Burrows on runway and live presentations, and are currently developing a new short film, TV series, and feature exploring rebellion in the face of environmental crisis.

OLIVER LANGBEIN
HEAD OF OPERATIONS
Oliver Langbein is a graduate of the Conservatorium of Music who has built a dynamic career in events and production as a lighting and sound technician. With a strong foundation in musical training, he brings a refined ear and technical precision to audio design, supporting high-profile events and international conferences around the world. His work has seen him collaborate closely with interpreters and translators, delivering seamless technical execution across diverse global settings.
Alongside his production career, Oliver serves as Head of Operations at Paris Jade Burrows, where he oversees logistics and coordinates the internal systems that support the brand’s creative output.
